About RUPA - Russian Urban Planners Association
The urban development, economic security, conservation of environment and creating comfortable living are only possible when effective planning, managing and regulation are applied. Thus the high level professionals who possess knowledge in urbanism, architecture, economic, sociology and culture are required.
The Russian Urban Planners Association is a young diverse network of practicing professionals – the first and unique society in Russia aimed at consolidating experts not only in architecture but also geographers, transportation, facilities and environmental planners, etc.
RUPA works on creating an urban planning knowledge network, improving planning education, implementing professional activity standards, engaging the best international practices into the Russian planning process.
The members of RUPA participate in planning, development, city marketing projects working hand-in-hand with local, regional and national officials, academicians, land owners, developers and citizens.
Special attention is paid to education and knowledge exchange processes by organizing seminars, workshops, professional contests and conferences.
RUPA seeks national and international partnerships to advance the urban planning in the Russian Federation and, being a co-organizer of 48th ISOCARP Congress in Perm, welcomes all participants to attend the congress and share experience.
