Sam van Embden Award for Members' Initiatives

Sam van Embden was the Founder of ISOCARP in 1965.

As a token of honour this new ISOCARP Award for Members' Initiatives has been given his name.

The award will be given annually to honour and to support members and their initiatives. The selection of initiatives will be done by the entire membership of ISOCARP. The Sam van Embden Award for Members’ Initiatives therefore is an award from members for members.

The Sam van Embden Award for Members' Initiatives is given annually, with a public announcement at the congress.
